5 things you might not know about your children's teeth
Start brushing from the moment the first baby tooth is present.
The evening brush should be the final step of your child's bedtime routine.
Parents should brush their child's teeth until at least the age of 6.
Brushing should be done twice per day.
Keep it fun!

Diet and your child's teeth
The bacteria in our mouths that produce molecules harmful to teeth and gums love sugar. Sugars are particularly common in sweets, biscuits, cakes, and juices — and even in some fruits. Where possible, enjoy fruit alongside meals to reduce the impact of those sugars, and avoid giving children juice between meals.
Dairy is a valuable part of your child's diet — not only for the calcium that supports strong teeth, bones, and muscles, but also for a protein called casein. Casein counteracts acidity in the mouth and provides excellent protection for your child's teeth.
Fibre helps reduce the impact of sugars that contribute to tooth decay, and works a little like a toothbrush by helping to keep teeth clean. You can find fibre in many foods — broccoli, oatmeal, nuts, and even popcorn (without added sugar).
