Surgical expertise. Exceptional aftercare.
When Is an Extraction Needed?
An extraction is carried out when the available options to save a tooth do not align with your needs or clinical situation. This may be due to a broken tooth, insufficient bone support, or a significant infection that makes root canal treatment no longer viable. The intended benefits of removing a tooth are relief from pain, elimination of infection, and resolution of swelling.
Simple vs. Surgical Extractions
A surgical extraction is required when a tooth has become impacted with another tooth or sits beneath the gum line, making straightforward removal impossible. We may also need to carry out a surgical extraction when a simple extraction cannot be completed — for example, if a tooth breaks during the procedure, is fractured at the gum line, or has a complex root shape. Wisdom tooth removal is the most common reason, but surgical techniques are used in a range of other situations.
Your Comfort, Our Priority
We understand that surgical dentistry can feel daunting. Our approach is unhurried, communicative, and patient-centred throughout. Pain management is taken seriously at every stage — from the injection itself to your recovery at home. IV sedation is available for patients who prefer a more relaxed experience.

Advantages
- Experienced surgical team including an oral surgery specialist

- Clear written aftercare guidance provided for every procedure
- Direct access to your clinician if concerns arise after surgery

Considerations
- Recovery time is required following surgical extractions — typically 3 to 7 days
