A dental implant is the closest thing modern dentistry can offer to a natural tooth. Anchored directly into the jawbone, it provides a stable, permanent foundation for a crown that looks, feels, and functions like the real thing. For patients who have lost a tooth — or multiple teeth — it represents a genuinely life-changing solution.
The Treatment in Stages
Implant treatment at Vere Dental begins with a comprehensive assessment that includes a CBCT scan — a three-dimensional X-ray that allows us to evaluate the bone volume and anatomy in detail before any treatment planning begins. If there is sufficient bone and the patient is in good general and dental health, we can proceed to the surgical phase: placing the implant fixture into the jawbone under local anaesthesia. This is typically a straightforward procedure completed in under an hour. The implant is then left to integrate with the surrounding bone over a period of three to six months, during which time a temporary restoration can be provided. Once integration is confirmed, the permanent crown is fitted.

Are You a Suitable Candidate?
Most adults in good general health are suitable candidates for implants. The key requirements are adequate bone volume at the implant site, healthy gums, and the absence of active infection. Certain systemic conditions and medications may affect healing and will be assessed at the initial consultation. Patients who smoke are advised that smoking significantly increases the risk of implant failure and will be counselled accordingly.
“An implant is not just about replacing a tooth — it is about restoring confidence, comfort, and function to someone's everyday life.”
